Test Method for Gantry Cranes and Their Protective Grounding

For the detection of gantry cranes, we should not only master the standard detection methods, but also take targeted inspection methods according to specific inspection contents and environmental factors. Only in this way can we really improve the detection level. The detection of gantry cranes includes the inspection of mechanical parts and electrical parts. Between them, the detection methods of mechanical parts are diverse, including the detection of mid span camber of the main beam and the local warpage of the main beam web.


The detection method for the mid span camber of the main beam of the warehouse gantry crane is as follows: the main beam is leveled with the cushion frame, and the elevation difference of the upper cover plate at the base plates at both ends is ≤ 2 mm. In case of double main beam structure, the cushion frame shall be placed directly below the main beam base plate; If it is a single main beam structure, the support center line of the cushion frame shall be placed 700mm outside the main beam base plate.


The other is the detection of protective earthing of gantry cranes. On the one hand, it is necessary to check whether the metal structure of the tower crane is well connected with the shell of electrical equipment; On the other hand, you should check the repeated earthing of the zero line. If the measured repeated earthing resistance is ≤ 10, the tower body buried in the ground can be used for repeated earthing, otherwise an independent earthing body shall be set for repeated earthing.


Not only that, but also you should check whether the total current circuit of the gantry crane has a short-circuit protection device, whether the selection and setting meet the regulations, and record the rated current of the fuse or the setting current of the circuit breaker. You should also alculate or quantitatively test the phase zero loop impedance and calculate the single-phase short-circuit current.
